Chrysler Crossfire SRT-6 - Details and Overview

A blend of modern SRT engineering and classic American styling infuses Chrysler Crossfire SRT6 Coupe with head-spinning performance and a head-turning appearance. A 330-horsepower 3.2-liter supercharged V6 engine assures it goes as fast as it looks.

The Chrysler Crossfire is, perhaps the best indication of why Chrysler's partnership with Daimler is a great thing. Combining the engineering of a Mercedes with the type of styling that only Chrysler can do is a surefire way to create a hit vehicle.

Such is the case with the Chrysler Crossfire. Born from the Mercedes SLK, it is both luxurious and beautiful to look at,.. however it is severely lacking under the hood with only 215hp moving it's 3,000+ lbs. That is, until now. Chrysler takes the beauty of the Crossfire and bumps up the performance with the Chrysler Crossfire SRT-6.

On the outside, the SRT retains much of the original styling. A revised front fascia is here, along with 18"/19" 15-spoke wheels. Also, the retracting wing from the base Crossfire is replaced for a fixed unit.

Of course the big changes are in the cars performance. A supercharger is added to it's V6 engine to produce 330hp and 310 lb-ft tq. This takes the Crossfire through the 1/4 mile at well under 14 seconds, and gets it to 60mph in less than 6. Unfortunately for the performance oriented, the only available transmission is a 5-speed automatic. However, for those purchasing the car primarily for it's luxury,.. this should be a welcome inclusion. Braking is also improved, with 13" rotors up front and vented discs in the rear. The suspension is 50% stiffer in front and 42% stiffer in the rear for a more performance oriented ride. This may be a little rough for those looking into a luxury car, so consider that with your purchase.
